Eastern Michigan Trounced by FCS Foe Howard FCS Howard took it too the Eastern Michigan Eagles in their season opener saturday in Ypsilanti. Eastern Michigan gave up 28 first half points and was never really into the game as Howard rolled to a 41-14 win. This was especially disappointing to first year defensive coordinator, Bentley Atteberry. Coach Atteberry had some interesting comments after the game, "I do not really know what to say. They took it too us and ran stuff we have never seen before or expected. They were successful out of the wishbone running the triple option and they were successful out of the gun with five wide outs. It was like we were playing the 1996 Nebraska Cornhuskers or something. I am very disappointed and this debacle is on me. The only thing I can do is grab a beer, hit the film room, and go back to the drawing board. Our defense needs an immediate revamp and do not expect the same scheme out of us next week. I need that beer now!" The Eagles gave up over 340 yards in the first half alone. Howard could do what they want, when they wanted, and finished up with 530 total yards including 333 on the ground. The road for Eastern Michigan does not get easier from here as they head out on the road for the next two weeks at Penn State and at Rutgers. For them to have a hope of improving this year, it is going to start with the defense. Expect coach Atteberry's seat to warm up if things do not improve quickly.

If you go to dynasty.easports.com and sign up if you already have not (actually you have even if you dont know it), then you can go to the dynasty page and there are team stats, individual stats, and more. Its pretty sweet actually. I just took a screen shot of it and then uploaded that.

ULL lost their season opener to Arkansas this week 33 - 36. Almost pulling the upset..
ULL came out guns blazing and taking Arkansas to halftime down 4, 17-13 after a perfectly executed 2 minute drive as Terrance Broadway used the read option and his legs to open up the Razorback defense. Soon after halftime Arkansas not only stopped Broadway's legs cold he went from 51 rushing yards at half to 10 starting the 4th quarter. Trailing all of the 4th quarter the Ragin Cajuns Offense had to open up the air game to get back into it. While it almost worked as they were in striking distance in the 4th broadway threw 3 I'll advised passes in the 4th that results in interceptions, to total for 4 on the night. After his up and down game Broadway had this to say:
"I really made some bad passes at the end there trying to get us back in the game. Made some bad reads and thought I could fit some passes in that I shouldn't have. We ended up coming up 3 points short and if I hadn't thrown 4 ints we could have maybe won." Broadway said. He then went on to add "it won't happen again, I won't throw another multi-pic game again this season. Next week we have a big game and we want a win"
ULL will head to Manhattan, Kansas to take on the Wildcats. First year offensive Coordinator Kaleb Baruffa expects his offense to execute much better. "We were rusty and you could tell and we still took a good team to the ropes and swung. Broadway won't play that way again I can guarantee you that. We've got to work a few kinks out and play to our strengths more. We're gonna adjust"
To add, star running back Alfonzo Harris missed much of the game with a shoulder injury and was a non factor, his return and hopeful full game next week should help the Ragin' Cajuns offense tremendously.

I just wanted to clarify recruiting. The CPU has added defensive players, but do I offer the scholarships and add points to those players, or do I just leave them alone? Also, are we spending just half of our weekly points on our side of the ball, or do we use all on our side or all spread out on both sides? I hope this makes sense. Haha

Haha Yes, I tried to use about half of the recruiting points (I got greedy and used a little bit more), but as long as you are close and the cpu has points to recruit for the other side of the ball, then you are good.

Kaleb, Sounds like you had a good game and almost pulled off the upset! 4 picks is definitely devastating and hard to win with. Good luck against kansas state!

Yeah the 4 picks killed me. 2 were just plain out bad passes by me. One was a lob on a corner route that I should have had..I changed to the WR and tried to user catch and he did nothing..that's so annoying does it happen to anyone else? The last I almost shattered my controller. Slant and the linebacker layed out like he was diving for a baseball to knock it straight up for the safety to pick. While that's actually a awesome sequence of events in the game i was not amused as it sealed my lose. That's the most I've thrown this year but it was with a lesser team against a good team so I'm okay with it

Well I had a pleasant surprise with my transfer running back from Purdue, Reggie Pegram. He ran for 202 yards and had 3 TD's! Only problem is my defense is going to be a big problem. Idaho put up 28, and I had to hold on for dear life to win. Meanwhile, my transfer qb from Kansas, Brock Berglund was 21 of 33 for 292 yards. He did fumble once, and I threw an int., but not a bad debut!

Tulane Football @greenwavefb
Green Wave stars WR Ryan Grant and RB Orleans Darwa both exit the game early in the first quarter with bone bruises. Neither look to be serious, but scary moment for Tulane fans.

Damn I got destroyed. I can't remember having so many drops, but the Mean Green came back to earth as I couldn't get anything going. I had 4 turnovers, 6 sacks, and I think double digit drops by wide receivers. I hope wr recruits who want some playing time were watching.
